Great!

This is a great quality product. It left my hair clean and nourished. I did use my normal salon conditioner since this is just shampoo. It smells really great too while not being overpowering. The bottle is almost exactly the same style as my recently purchased salon shampoo and conditioner. My only complaint was it was more liquidy than anticipated so I had to put it in my hand and then just one spot of my head and scrub it that way vs using a thicker product that spreads out more evenly

Gentle Cleansing

This shampoo works well with my curly hair. It cleans and smooths my hair pretty much as well as any of my other go-to shampoos. The scent is a pleasant, floral scent that isn't overpowering and it leaves your hair smelling very nice. There are two products, silicone quaternium-8 and amodimethicone, that are not curly girl friendly. So that's something to consider if you follow the curly girl method. Now, let's talk about the price. Holy cow! I thought I hadn't read it right, and I had to look twice. $46 (at the time of this review). What? I have never spent that kind of money on a shampoo. It would have to make my hair look perfect everyday for me to spend that kind of money. In summary, this product works well for curly hair, but not any better than a less expensive brand such as Carol's Daughter products. If you have deep pockets and really feel that expensive products are better, then this is for you. If you're regular folk just trying to deal with this insane inflation, you might want to look elsewhere. The results simply do not justify the price.

Smells amazing

When I got this package, the box was a little wet. Shampoo’s lid was closed but was leaking. Maybe there should be an extra protection against leakage. When I opened shampoo I said “wow”. It smells heavenly amazing! I think somehow it reminds me ‘Eclat’ perfume from Lanvin. I love this smell! My hair is long, bleached and dry. After only the first hair wash I've realized how nice and super soft my hair became. I haven’t even used the hair mask or conditioner to see the real results of this shampoo. I think this is a good shampoo but for $46 it's overpriced.

Reminds me of a visit to the salon

This conditioner scent reminds me of a visit to the salon. It is very thick and a little goes a long way. I have long thick hair that is generally very frizzy. This conditioner adds moisture to the hair to help with frizz. I could tell a difference with 1 use and would highly recommend this product.

Mells great!

This moisturizing conditioner smells great and works really well at sealing split ends and damaged, weak hair. I love that it is sulfate free also! Comes in a cool package and it dispenses great. Wonderful product if you are dealing with dry, split ends and unruly hair.

Smells great

It took a few washes for me to start noticing the difference compared to my previous conditioner. This product leaves my hair feeling light, smooth, and a bit wispy. It spreads evenly, lathers up thick, and smells great. I prefer to let it permeate into my hair for about 10 mins for best results.

Smells great!

Smells great and doesn't leave a weighted-down, greasy feeling. Washes away easily and leaves my hair lightly scented and feeling light.

Feels Nice

I wasn't sure I was going to like this shampoo but, after using it a few times I have a better liking to it. It has a nice smell to me and, a lightweight feeling after styling and drying. It is something you have to use for a bit before you can judge. Hope you find my review helpful.

does not weigh my hair down

My curly hair seems to be doing ok with this one.Does not weigh it down.Helps the curls to stay nice and bouncy all day long. The scent is not too overpowering for my allergies.Overall I am happy with this shampoo because it works well in my hair.

Soft and silky color treated hair.

I have color treated hair that is always in need of moisture and this did the trick. Even the ends of my hair are soft. It's the type of shampoo you want to use if you're going to be wearing your hair down and want it to be soft and manageable. If you're planning to wear your hair up you may find this shampoo almost makes your hair too soft and silky, it works that well.

Not really moisturizing

My curl pattern over the years has changed so I'm trying to switch to products that could maybe help restore it. I like the bottle it comes in its sleek looking, and the shampoo itself smells pretty nice. it's a little runny but that's not a huge deal to me. I just didn't like how it made my hair feel, it wasn't moisturizing my hair at all, and my hair after I washed it out and put conditioner on felt just weird. I'll try it a few more times to see, but not super happy with it

Feels pretty silky smooth but expensive

This shampoo came in a very neat box and looks very well designed. The shampoo provides a very pleasant mild scent while being very smooth when applied to hair. It produces large amount of lather so only small amounts are needed at a time which will make the bottle last longer. There is no leftover residue after washing the shampoo out and has kept my hair smooth and moisturized after multiple uses. The biggest concern is the price point as it is not a good value ($35 at time of review but has a $10 off coupon) when comparing to other shampoos in this price range.

This is just a great product!

This is just a great product! My hair has been bleached so much that it is frizzy. I love how I can use this and not even blow dry my hair and get great curls!

Smells good

This shampoo does smell good. That's probably the best thing I can say about it. It's not a bad shampoo otherwise, it's just nothing spectacular. It is quite costly, but I do believe the price has gone down since originally put on Amazon and there is currently a coupon to use as well. So, it may be worth it with all of that. It's not super sudsy but suds do not mean anything for cleanliness. It's just what we are used to when it comes to soap. This does clean well and leaves my hair soft. So do other, more affordable shampoos in larger bottles. This bottle is 8.5 fl oz.

Good Winter Shampoo

I like this moisturizing shampoo in the winter when my hair gets extra dry. The consistency is a bit watery but also looks creamy like a conditioner. The scent is subtle and pleasant. I still use conditioner after this shampoo but it does aid in getting my hair softer.

Expected more for the price

It does a decent job cleaning my hair without stripping it, but honestly for the price I expected my hair to feel a lot softer than it did. It has an interesting smell. I can't describe it, but I like it!

Smells great

This shampoo smells amazing my only complaint with it is that it doesn't really said that well so it's not super sudsy if that's what you're looking for in some sense I'm okay with that because a lot of my curly shampoos also do not have harsh suds so I'm not sure if it was intentional or not but it did clean my hair well and it smells great so I would recommend

Love it

I love this shampoo! The bottle design is neat, it lathers great. It felt a bit dense, though. I felt like I couldn’t easily spread it once it was lathered. Rather, I had to add more to my scalp. I do think it helped moisturize my hair. My only qualm is the expense!

Absolutely Love It!

I have been struggling with dry, frizzy, thin and curly hair for all of my adult life. Since I let my hair go naturally white/grey/silver it's gotten even worse. A few days before this shampoo arrived on Vine, I was able to request Komo's Straight Up Sleek Creme from Vine and I loved it. So when I saw this shampoo available, I requested it right away and here we are. This review is for: Kumo Moisturizing Shampoo for Dry, Damaged, Curly, Frizzy, or Color Treated Hair, Sunflower Seed oil, ...In the product info it states "Dry, Damaged, Curly, Frizzy," and I have ALL of those. It's winter here in New England and that doesn't help either. I was excited to try this shampoo and I was not disappointed. I must admit that I'm not entirely pleased with the scent of this, but I don't care, because it has changed my hair for the better.I have been using this in conjunction with the creme I received previously, and together, these products have changed my hair so much, I can hardly recognize it as my own. There are a few patches on my hair that can be extremely unruly...mostly where I usually put my hair up in a bun or ponytail. Those patches no longer exist. Every time, without fail, my hair rinses out as a sleek, smooth, and shiny sheet and I love that.In an effort to only test these two products, I used them with no additional conditioners or products, other than a Matrix Tension Reliever at my roots. Together, these products have changed my hair completely. The only drawback is the cost. Together, both of these products will run about $90.00 and that is a LOT for my beauty budget to handle. At this point, knowing how well the Kumo products have worked for my hair, I am probably going to cut out something else from the budget, because I need more Kumo!

Way overpriced

This shampoo is very thin and borderline runny, almost feels like its watered down and isn't nearly as viscous as every other shampoo I've ever seen so I'm not sure what that's about. The smell is very mild and pleasant and is probably the best aspect of the shampoo. It worked alright for cleaning the hair but you definitely have to follow up with conditioner. Overall its okay but certainly not my favorite shampoo, especially at 40+ dollars.

Great shampoo

This is a very nice shampoo. It smells great. I have used it in a couple times and I can tell that my hair feels a lot better plus I can use it on my hair that has been dyed.

Upgrading my review after a month of use

Update after about 6 weeks of use: I like this shampoo better than expected. I'm adding a star because I am more satisfied than I was initially. It is slightly drying to the scalp, but not to the point of itching or irritation. My hair will always tend toward frizzy, but this shampoo adds some shine. I have been alternating between Kumo and my dermatologist's formula with good results, washing every other day.The price has dropped significantly and is more reasonable, if still premium.Original review:The slender, embossed bottle and beautiful box set expectations high for this luxury shampoo. Ad copy promises a pure, nontoxic, healing and therapeutic shampoo experience. Harmful chemicals? Never! Even the ink on the box is plant-based and responsibly sourced. We are instructed to "Lather. Revel. Rinse."Fully expected to ascend to a higher plane of existence while using this product, but I'm still here. This is some top-shelf shampoo, but does it live up to the hype? Not even close. The herbal fragrance is strong and not especially pleasant. It reminds me of 1970s Clairol Herbal Essence. Despite being all natural, it smells aggressively herbal with chemical undertones. The lather is reasonably silky, not overly bubbly because there are no sulfates.I used the Kumo shampoo this week along with my usual conditioner and styling gel. My hair looks and feels clean, but my scalp is more dry than usual. There is no residue after rinsing, and no smell remains. It's a perfectly fine but unremarkable shampoo experience.Several of my cosmetic pet peeves are represented in this product. One, the gray ink on blue bottle makes it very difficult to read even with glasses. In the shower, forget about it! This is ableist and cosmetic companies need to knock it off. Use a readable font and ink color, please. (By the way, the bottle is 8.5 ounces, but that isn't clear in the listing.)Two, the ingredient list is super-secret. It's not in the product listing on Amazon, and the link is pretty well buried on the brand's website. I have copied and pasted below. There are MANY ingredients, and half are probably not necessary. While the formula is free of sulfates, parabens, phthalates, and DMDHM (whatever that is), there are quite a few chemical ingredients. I don't think that is a bad thing, but it is worth noting as it isn't consistent with the overall marketing.Three--and pardon me if this seems like piling on--I don't care for the shape of the bottle. It is too easy to knock over and too tall to fit into all shower caddies or shelves. On the plus side, the large flat top will make it easy to store upside down and get every last $5.41 ounce. For the curious, here's the ingredient list from the manufacturer's website:INCI Nomenclature in decending order of predomicanceAqua (Water/Eau)Sodium Cocoyl IsethionateLaureth-5 Carboxylic AcidGlycereth-26Silicone Quaternium-8Cocamide MIPAFragrance/ParfumAmodimethiconeHelianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed OilPanthenolButylene GlycolSodium IsethionatePolyquaternium-59Sodium PCAGlycerinGlycol DistearatePolyquaternium-10Disodium EDTAPropanediolSodium LactateArginineAspartic AcidPCAGlycineAlanineSerineValineProlineThreonineIsoleucineHistidinePhenylalanineAmber ExtractBiosaccharide Gum-1Trideceth-12Cetrimonium ChlorideEthylhexylglycerinCitrullus Lanatus (Watermelon) Fruit ExtractPhenoxyethanolLeontopodium Alpinum ExtractCitric AcidLitchi Chinensis Pericarp ExtractSodium HydroxideLinaloolButylphenyl MethylpropionalHexyl CinnamalLimoneneSodium BenzoatePotassium Sorbate×

Itchy scalp

So I tried for a whole week, I really wanted to like it, it has great ingredients, it smells pleasant and it seems to work for the other reviewers. I wash my hair every other day so I've used it a total of 4 times so maybe it needs to be longer but so far this shampoo doesn't work for me. It makes my scalp very ITCHY, I normally do not use conditioner with my regular $8 shampoo, so I figured a $46 bottle of Moisturizing shampoo would be even better; It was not. My hair got dry and frizzy, when it normally is silky and soft. I don't know if maybe using it alongside their conditioner might make a difference but at this point the shampoo alone doesn't work for me.

Incredible smelling but overpriced shampoo

This is a nice shampoo, and it smells absolutely incredible, luxurious really. I like that I can use it on my color treated hair too. My biggest disappointment with this is the selling price because I think it's a very overpriced shampoo. I found it to be on the thinner side for liquid and it didn't lather as nicely as I'd have expected for a shampoo in this price range. My hair looks nice today, certainly clean, but it wasn't any less frizzy than before or any more moisturized in appearance. The biggest difference I noticed is that my hair smells absolutely amazing and has stayed that way since I washed it with this shampoo. When it comes to the smell, it's really fantastic, better than most. Otherwise, it performed pretty comparable to any other moisturizing shampoo.
